At present, Wayne State University School of Medicine accepts body donations from Southeastern part of Michigan, which includes the following counties: Bay, Genesee, Huron, Lapeer, Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, Saginaw, Sanilac, St. Clair, Tuscola, Wayne and Washtenaw. In most of these cases, the University will incur the expenses involved for transportation.

If a person lives or dies outside Southeastern Michigan, or in another state, arrangements for a body donation should be made with the nearest medical school. If the wish is still to come to Wayne State University, the transportation costs will be the responsibility of the family.
